Stay up to date with the latest features, updates, and improvements to TechSpecs API.
February 25, 2023 Update
We are excited to announce the release of TechSpecs API version 4, which includes several new features and improvements to make the API more developer-friendly and easier to use.
-
Updated API schema and improved keys
We have updated the API schema and improved the keys to make it easier for developers to work with the data. For example, we have changed the format of keys such as "Inside Camera" to "inside_camera" to provide a more consistent and user-friendly format. -
Brand new native dashboard
We have released a brand new native dashboard, which replaces our third-party dashboard. This means that you will need to create a new account to use the new dashboard. The new dashboard is more user-friendly and provides more detailed insights into your API usage. -
Added Monitors and TVs
We have added Monitors and TVs to our database, expanding our coverage of consumer electronics products. We are currently working on expanding our smartphone database to add more niche non-mainstream products that are hard to find. We are also adding the desktop product category to our database to provide even more coverage of consumer electronics products. -
Reduced pricing
We have reduced our pricing from $0.02 per call to $0.01 per call, which is a 50% reduction in pricing. This will make it more affordable for developers to use our API and build innovative applications. Please note that only successful call requests with an HTTP 200 OK success status response code will count toward your API usage. Non-successful calls, such as calls with a 404 or 500 error, will not count towards your usage. During the public beta period, our free tier provides 5,000 free requests. After the testing period is over, the free plan will change to 100 requests. -
Improved search algorithm
We have introduced a new search algorithm that will make it faster and easier to find the products you're looking for.
Future updates
At TechSpecs, we are committed to providing the most comprehensive and up-to-date database of technical specifications for consumer electronics products. In addition to the new features in TechSpecs API version 4, we are currently working on several other updates that will make our API even more powerful and flexible. Here are some of the updates we are currently working on:
-
New AI-powered API: Our new AI-powered API will be able to generate product-related content, such as video scripts, blog posts, and tech reviews, for any product given a product ID. This will make it easier for you to create high-quality content for your website and other applications. Our AI will be able to answer questions in natural language, making it possible for you to create an AI-powered chatbot for your website or application.
-
Team members feature: We are working on a new team members feature that will allow you to add multiple members to your organization. This will make it easier for you to collaborate with your team and manage access to the API.
-
Expanded product categories: We are constantly working to expand our database of technical specifications for consumer electronics products. In the near future, we plan to add new product categories to our database to make it even more comprehensive and useful.
We take pride in providing an API that is comprehensive, reliable, and flexible, and we are constantly working to improve it. If you have any questions or issues, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team for assistance.
